Automatic door lock on dodge charger 2009

+1 vote
Hi,

Recent news from Fortin shows that, eveo-all can be used as a standalone alarm system, meaning, no need to buy a alarm unit. my question is, has this feature been released in the software version or we need to buy a new hardware?

secondly, my car doors never lock automatically after i leave the car in the parking, is there any way i can configure this from EVo?

The EVO-ALARM feature is in the latest firmwares. This is option that needs to be turned on via the FLash-Link Updator. There is also an installation guide you would need to follow along side the regular installation guide.

::  Download Installation Guide  ::

We do not list EVO-ALARM as a compatible standalone system for the 2009 Charger because on some models we can not detect the door status (door opened or closed) thhrough the vehicles Can-Bus network. The models that the EVO can detect the door status though, EVO-ALARM would work. You can test this yourself by installing the EVO and testing the GREEN wire output. If the EVO detects the door status, you will see a negative pulse coming from that wire when a door is open.

The EVO can't control that and i personnally wouldnt recommend it. You would end up locking up your keys in the car one day.

With EVO-Alarm turned on though, you can program your doors to relock if they were unlocked and no doors were opened after 30 seconds.

Great to hear that, i would definitely go for an upgrade sometimes soon.

I dont want the complete functionality of the alarm system, all i want is automatic door locks after 30 seconds of unlock if none of the  doors open.

if i enable alarm system from the options, what wiring do i need to connect and where to make this single option work?

Thanks

It would automatically (without extra wiring) do the relock after 30seconds it if you turn on the Option in the EVO. It would only work correctly though if the EVO can detect the door status through the vehicles Can-Bus.

The install guide for EVO-ALARM is here :   Download Installation Guide

  • To turn on the Stand Aone remote start you need Option 15
  • To turn on the Stand Alone Alarm you need Option 22
  • To turn on the relock after 30seconds, you need Option 22.4

Lets you want to use all the features of EVO-ALARM and Remote starter, you would have to combine both installation guides with their appropriate connections.

First and foremost though, you need to test the EVO to see if it can detect the vehicles door status.

Excellent. thanks for your help.

do you only assist for EVo wiring or any general wiring on these cars. if so, i have a question apart from EVO installation.

I have a dodge charger 2009 SE V6 2.7 VIN:-2B3KA43DX9H602636

1:- where can i tap the front dash speakers, i have tried looking for existing harness to no avail.

2:- I have recently added the automatic headlight switch, the switch just workis fine but does not turn off the lights during the day when on auto. this is because, i dont have the light sensor on the dash. i have ordered the dash sensor with 2 pin wire but dont know where to connect  the same. i dont think i need to do any programming coz i already have my lights configured for auto off. After adding this switch they just come up automatically after starting the car. when i crank the car with light switch on auto, headlights just go off for few seconds and then come back on, asuming that, its dark outside. This just works fine for me during the night but during the day i need to turn them off manually. please ommit if this is out of your way.

is there any way i can connect this light sensor on EVO  somewhere? sounds like a silly question though....:)

Thanks

Only supprt Fortin products here.

I recommend you go see the, the12volt.com forums for all other info.

Thanks. so to test the negative pulse on the green wire while the door is open.

Simple test as per my understanding should be as below

I have noticed, if i pulse ground on yellow/black wire, triggers my Trunk off, so if i connect this yellow/black wire to the green wire. now when the door is opened and if there is a negative pulse on the green wire, this should kickoff my trunk? let me know if that's the right way to test this?

Thanks
Hey everything is working perfectly fine, it even locks the doors within 30 seconds if not opened.

Thanks.

Ha! Yeah that would work as a test but ideally you should be using a multimeter or a logic test light for testing circuits.

The trunk is popping at the moment though because you do not have stand alone remote starter activated in the EVO. This is why i made you test by grounding the yellow/black wire. When not in stand alone it acts a trunk release trigger, while in stand alone it acts as an External Trigger.
