2014 Mazda 3 - How to take over

Hello,

I recently bought a 2014 Mazda 3 GT auto with this remote start module preinstalled. To start the car, simple, lock-unlock-lock sequence. Now when I hop in the car, I was told that without pushing the brake, I am supposed to double press the start/stop button and then I can press the brake and continue to shift into gear and go. However, after I double press the start/stop button, I press the brake and the car shuts off. Is there something I am doing incorrectly here?

Hey there. I read the guide before posting. My start/stop blinks more than twice when I press it. Even after 2 flashes, I press the brake and the car shuts off. Only way I have got it figured out is if I enter the car, press the start/stop twice, wait for everything to boot, press it again to turn off the screen and then one more press to turn the screen on. Once I do that, I can press the brake and go. It's definitely quicker to hop on, jam the brake, restart the car and go but that's unnecessary wear and tear that can be avoided. Any ideas?
