PTS access

Question

I have a 2014 Infiniti QX50. I can access all the connectors I need to make except for the PTS connector. I think the only way I can access that is by taking the radio out, but I'm not sure and I cannot figue out how to do that because there are no visible screws anywhere. Can someone who has done one of these please give me some help.

The push button clip out of the dash and then can be disconnected. Make sure you use a plastic tool to remove it because dash panel and push button are easy to scratch.

If you want to stay on the safe side, yes it is accessible by removing the radio, start with the center console top part that unclip with no screws and then you will see screws for the next panel to remove.

Have you actually done one of these?

I don't see a clip on the pushbutton; there is a metal trim ring around it. Are you saying I should pry under the ring with a platic tool? I don't see anything there to really pry on. If there's a clip, I would think it would be on the other side of the switch which is inaccessable. This leads me to believe that the only way to access it is through the radio.

For the center console, do you just pry under the sides of it? Looks like there is a lot more to it than that.

Earlier models were so much easier to do. Looks like Infiniti wanted to make it damn near impossible to do them now.

I did at least 20 of these cars, the button with metal ring is one piece and pops out. Be careful its not really metal its plastic covered with fake chrome.

Go to IP12 to remove center console piece and then IP17 for actual radio and climate removal.

I found that it was a lot easier to access the BCM which is located behind the passenger kickpanel. Pin 60 on the BCM is coming directly from the PTS button so I did not have to remove the button or the radio. Connecting everything turned out to be a piece of cake!
