3x lock vs lock-unlock-lock compatibility

+1 vote
Is the compatibility for 3x lock  vs lock-unlock-lock the same - meaning vehicles only on the list for 3x lock will work with either?  What limits this ability on cars not compatible?

if you can do lock three times then you can do lock-unlock-lock.

as long as the car is 3 lock compatible then you can change it to lock-unlock-lock.

So my main reason I ask is because my car is NOT on the 3x compatible list... so I wanted to find out if lock-unlock-lock was OK to use.

I didn't expect it would be, however, I tried just to see and it seems to work... so trying to understand supported vs unsupported.

Just want to understand the case before I continue to use this mode with a car not on the list.
Ya if a car is NOT 3x lock compatible the lock-unlock-lock won't work either.

If ever you are wondring we have a complete list of compatible 3x lock cars: http://fortin.ca/en/features/3x_lock_remote_starter.html
Normally when a car start with 3x lock without being officially compatible is because the OEM remote on your vehicle is not functionnal when the engine is running so user can not unlock doors.

If you are ok with that, you can continue using lock-unlock-lock

What is your vehicle ?
Mine is 2009 Subaru Impreza.  The lock/unlock work with engine running but not with key in ignition... So turbo or idle mode don't work.  Lock-unlock-lock definitely works so far... Just worried if there is a reason I should not use.
