2010 Audi S4 Evo-All fails to start unless key is slightly inside the keyport.

2010 Audi S4. Wires soldered and tested. Programming completed successfully with recommended options and firmware installed. Failure to start and three flashes of red led after failure. Also brake lights never come on. I found that if I insert the fob into the keyport slightly, (not all the way in) the engine will start after pressing the lock button three times. I've tried two different modules and T-harnesses with the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The service number is 001A06876437.
Any updates on this issue? I'm still unable to use this remote start at all.

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

"I found that if I insert the fob into the keyport slightly, (not all the way in) the engine will start after pressing the lock button three times."

-This would lead me to believe that perhaps the vehicle is not accpeting the key code the evo generated during the programming of the module.

I see you've only tried firmware 60.02.

Perhaps try updating it to 60.08, re program it in the vehicle followed by doing the dcryptor process. After dcryptor is done, plug it in and test your 3x lock.

If you wound up with the same result on a different firmware and since you say youve already tried a 2nd evo with the same result, you may end up needing to sacrifice a key and do a key wrap.

Updating to 60.08 worked! Thanks so much for your help. I had just about given up on figuring this out as, I purchased this unit last year. I really appreciate the reply.

Chuck
Glad you got it going.

All the best.
