doors relock after remote start shutdown

2013 F-150

i have option checked to shutdown remote start upon opening a door foot brake off

problem 1 without this option checked the remote start never shut down till timer ran out even after turning ignition on and back off i was afraid it would shut off engine while driving if i left the shutdown option off.    i was trying to get away from restarting engine a 2nd time after remote start.

problem 2 after remote start doors relock and arm anti theft if i key unlock door and enter vehicle remote starter shutsdown but then 15-20 sec later the doors relock, this seems like a negative feature that could lock you out of vehicle accidently

any info on these 2 things would be appreciated and make this setup more enjoyable

thanks Brian

thanks anyway

i was on vacation for a week so didnt have time to get back to this

i turned off all lock functions from the remote starter and eliminated the issue of doors relocking at the source since i am using factory key lock trigger to activate anyway this feature was redundant

i also figured out all my other issues by trial and error

some of my problems were the wire diagram didnt match my vehicle so after using a pin in my factory harness i was able to find the proper place to make connections

very poor instructions for this install i work on electrical problems every day and this was a challenge and took several hrs
Curious too know what was wrong in the guide. F150 is a pretty popular truck and that info in there is pretty much spot on. Maybe if not familiar with remote starter guides, they can look a bit confusing.

A remote starter will not shut off by simply turning the key On then Off. It will shut down with the brake press. So, Key on, then press brake. Car will stay running and remote starter will shut off. If brake is pressed before ignition is turned on, the car will shut down.

Do that and get rid of the shutdown on door open feature and both the problems will solve themselves. The shutdown on door open is a safety/security feature, it will also relock-rearm the car.
