FT-D100 + EVO-ONE pinout advice

Question

I'm using a 6-pin Compustar antenna going into the FT-D100, which then connects to the EVO-ONE.  Here is the connector going into the EVO-ONE:



 

Question 1:  Do I reverse the blue/white data wires?

Question 2:  Would you happen to know if the 2-pin connector (12v/ground) on the FT-D100 is required in when outputting to the EVO-ONE?

You need to reverse the blue and white.

Thanks -- that document is listed with the EVO-ALL so I just wanted to make sure.  I'll switch the data wires and plug it in.

Edit: For the EVO-ONE, just to confirm, do I still select FirstTech in the Flashlink software, when using the FT-D100?

man, i should reread things before clicking the send button.

The option you need to enable is completely in a different place when using the EVO-ONE. With the FTD-100, you will not be reversing wires.

NOTE: Some of their newest remotes had changes in their codes that prevent programming to the EVO-ONE. If you have trouble programming the remotes as per instruction, that is probably why. Have no fear though! we are waiting for remotes to come in so we can change the EVO-ONE firmware accordingly.

Thanks for the update!  I have different Compustar remotes here (some new, some older) so I'll give it a try.  Just to confirm:

 

- DON'T reverse the data wires coming out of the FT-D100 -- keep everything stock.

- For EVO-ONE, load Flashlink and select Configuration --> Unit Options --> Check "FirstTech"

 

Simple as that?

Simple as that. No changing wires around with the FTD100. After selecting the Firstech option and plugging everything, there is just a little learn routine to do in the car, all this is outlined in those RF-KIT guides.

Their 4 wire antennas though, you don't even need the FTD100 when using the EVO-ONE :) In this setup you would need to change the pin out though.

Any luck on this? Did any of your Compustar RF kit worked? if so, which one(s)? We really need an actually confirmaition of the EVO-ALL (via FT-D100) and EVO-ONE having to really work with the Compustar RF Kits.

Sorry, haven't got to it yet.. The Compustar RF kits I have are:

RFP2W901SSCN, SLICE RF2W940SSCN, SLICE Jr. RF-2W1B-SP, Prime RF-2WG9-SP.

I'm hoping to put an EVO-ONE in my 2015 Suburban within the next few days and I will use it to test all these RF kits, along with my Viper RF kits...

Robert did mention some of the Compustar remotes had troubles programming (and I've read this elsewhere as well).  Maybe he could tell us which kits are having issues?

Anything new. I spoke to someone in NY that was used to using the Compu RF-KITs but all of sudden, his last order, the were not programming. He spoke with Firstech and they told them it's possible since they changed the codecs in the kits. So basically, any RF-KITs that a have a very recent manufacturing date (less than a month-ish ago)? That seems to be the case anyway.

Once we get our kits we asked for, this obstacle will be run over.

At the moment, the only way to know, is to just try them. The step-by-step guides has 2 different remote programming options for you to try.

For what I can tell all (or most) of the Compustar remotes you want to are 6 pin connections, so yes, the FT-D100 will be needed, Please confirm if they work with EVO-ONE. I really know what we can sell and install before we advertise and quote them.

I just checked the boxes -- it looks like the Pro 901 (RF-2W901-SS) has a 6-pin but the others have a 4-pin connector.  So the FT-D100 isn't required for those, but changing the pinout of the connector is required before plugging it into the EVO.

I'll keep everyone updated

Update #1:

No luck with the Compustar Pro 901 SS + FT-D100.  It's not even new hardware, I think this RF kit has been on my shelf 1-2 years.  Today I'm going to try the other 3 Compustar kits with the 4-pin connectors.

Compustar Slice (RF-2W940-SS) programmed just fine with full 2-way functionality.

Hi guys -- quick update.  I flashed my FT-D100 but there's still no luck getting the Compustar 901SS to program.

All the Compustar kits with the smaller plug (4-wire, direct into EVO-ONE) work fine though.

Little udpate to the udpates.

For the EVO-ONE, the adapter needed should say RFACOMPU for the 6-pin models.This is actually manufactured by Fortin. You can get your distibutor to contact us if they don't know about this piece.

The FTD100 is for the EVO-ALL. This is my fault, I misunderstood the adapters required.
